CITU purchased water temperature dataloggers that will be used to monitor stream temperature at 4 locations along the tailwater. The data loggers can record temperatures at pre-selected intervals and the information will then be downloaded into a database. The stream temperature profiles will be very useful in determining the next steps in habitat improvement work for BTW. This effort is in cooperation with the IDNR. The cost for the equipment and software was $814.20.
The temperature data loggers provided very useful information this year. The data loggers were removed from the river in October 2007 before high flows had a chance to flush them away. All of the information collected was shared with IDNR. A sample of the data printout is shown below.
