Central Indiana Trout Unlimited
Central Indiana Trout Unlimited (CITU) attracts members, as the name might suggest, from the Central Indiana area. Members come from the Seymour/Columbus area, Indianapolis and the surrounding counties. We are about trout fishing in Central Indiana and raise funds for delayed harvest trout stockings at several locations in Central Indiana. The trout stockings are intended to provide a fishing resource for anglers during the Fall and Winters periods when other fish are more difficult to fish for but trout are very active. We also support and raise funds for Project Healing Waters and Casting for Recovery with our Fly Fishing Film Tour event. CITU has outreach programs that engage youth through the Trout Unlimited Stream Girls program and Trout in the Classroom, both of which have science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) components and some outdoor activities. CITU has a water quality monitoring program where Ntrates are monitored and Macro Invertebrate surveys are conducted. We post all of our data to the Izaak Walton Eagle Clean Water Hub.
Becoming a Member: The only requirement is membership in Trout Unlimited. There are no other dues or fees. Go to http://www.tu.org for more information. If you are already a member and would like to join our chapter ask TU to transfer you to Central Indiana TU Chapter 699. We receive an annual rebate for each member in our chapter. The funds are used to support chapter activities and for trout stocking projects at Eagle and Sugar Creek.
